![]() Jennifer(Jay) and Will Evans have been running Norwest Sled Dog Adventures since 1987. Will is a Chef by trade and Jennifer's education is in Outdoor Recreation/Natural Science. They are raising two children who assist in the loving care of their 31 Alaskan Huskies(the modern racing sled dog). Both arrived in Thunder Bay in 1980 from southern Ontario and fell in love with the natural region North of Superior; beautiful country for sailing, canoeing, hiking, and of course dog mushing. Now they operate on 300 acres of land which abuts crown land to Lake Superior and Jarvis Bay. The history of the Bay is intriguing with remnants of an old resort owned by an American logging company back in the early 1900's. Trails abound through old forests and past magnificent rock faces. Norwest Sled Dog Adventures is located 40km (25 miles) south of Thunder Bay Airport on Highway #61 or 35km (21 miles) north of the Minnesota border. Turn on Jarvis Bay Road east and find us 3km down the road. ![]() |
